Independent Software & AI Developer
I'm Mark, running Spiratek as a one-person studio. I design, build, and ship my own software products end-to-end — currently, that's World Stories, an AI-powered fantasy RPG.

Building My Own Products
I'm an independent developer who designs, builds, and runs my own software products end-to-end — backend, frontend, infrastructure, and the AI systems that bring them to life — under my own one-person studio, Spiratek.
My flagship product is World Stories, a living fantasy RPG with AI-generated character art and LLM-driven NPCs. I handle everything myself, from the database schema to the AI prompts.
What I Build With
The engineering foundation behind my own products — backend systems, data architecture, APIs, and applied AI.
Backend & Systems Engineering
Robust backend systems and infrastructure — the foundation I use to design, build, and ship my own products, like World Stories.
Database Architecture
Efficient, secure database design that keeps data integrity and performance solid as a product grows.
API Development
Well-designed APIs that tie together the systems behind my products — internal services and third-party integrations alike.
AI & LLM Development
Production AI features, not demos — LLM-driven content and dialogue, AI image generation pipelines, and self-hosted models, integrated into real, shipping applications.
Featured Project
World Stories is the flagship product from my one-person studio — a living fantasy RPG with AI-generated art and LLM-driven characters.

World Stories
A full-stack RPG web app I designed and built end-to-end: a Sails.js backend, two Nuxt 4 frontends, and a set of AI features running in production. OpenAI's gpt-image-1 generates each character's portrait from a description or a reference photo analyzed with GPT-4o vision, while a self-hosted Ollama model drives NPC dialogue — every NPC keeps its own memory of trust, fear, and past conversations.
